The butter lamp is an essential offering in the rituals of Tibetan and Mongolian culture—a vessel of light and devotion.

This small brass butter lamp is simple, endearing, and versatile: it can be worn as a bag charm or used as an incense holder. Designed as a tiny “travel companion,” it can hang from your backpack or be used in a hotel room to light a stick of incense for a moment of calm.

The lamp features two incense holes in different sizes, allowing for both thicker Tibetan incense and finer stick incense. It can also hold small cone incense.

The handwoven cord (colors vary) adds a subtle Tibetan touch, complete with an adjustable knot that lets you easily remove the lamp—or keep it hanging while in use.

Each piece comes with a torn-edge Dongba paper tag, inscribed with the Tibetan blessing “Tashi Delek,” meaning auspiciousness and well-being.
