Handmade Waist Pouch

Created by an independent artist from the mountains of Guizhou, this belt bag reinterprets the traditional hebao—the embroidered silk pouches once cherished in the East. Instead of fine silk, dense linen was chosen for its grounded texture. Two hand-braided wool straps and glass beads add tactile contrast, while a hand-drawn botanical motif quietly anchors the piece in the natural world.

Rough and refined, intuitive yet intentional—this is not a replica of the past, but a spirited echo of it.
