NANAO is the name of the city where TAKAZAWA CANDLE is located. It is in the heart of the glorious countryside, surrounded by the sea and mountains, making it easy to connect with nature. Five different candles are available, and each motifs a different plant that grows in the Noto Peninsula. Each candle is named after a letter of the word "plant.”
The NANAO series is perfect for dinners; its burning duration can be up to 130 minutes! It is made from sumac wax and all-natural ingredients, making it beautiful and eco-friendly.
The wax is derived from these sumac berries.

TAKAZAWA CANDLE creates traditional Japanese candles, called "WA-ROUSOKU," made from natural waxes. They established their candle-making business back in 1892 in the city of Nanao, Ishikawa Pref., Japan.

The candles use different kinds of waxes that are derived from plant-based raw materials: Fruits of the HAZE (sumac) tree, rice bran, and canola flower oil. The flame of the TAKAZAWA candles is bigger and brighter than Western candles due to the structure of the wick and the thickness of the candles’ diameter. The wick is made from a combination of natural materials: WASHI paper, rush weed, and silk fiber.
